G CUP is a championship among Germany and Austria. This is my season's story. G CUP by Margit Ainhauser:
This is my 2° season in G-CUP. The Championship's races are in Germany and Austria, near Salzburg and Munchen. G CUP means neighbouring land CUP, and there are 10 class (50 ccm, 65 ccm, 85 ccm, Young Racer, Principianti, Open, Old Boy, Ladies, Prestige e Friends) and on saturday we have free practise and on sunday qualify and races. I think it's the only championship of Supermoto in Europe with a women category. We're 10-15 women. Last year there were 9 Rounds, instead this year there are only 6 Rounds, but for some problems, one Round was cancelled. Problems are about locations for Supermoto, it isn't so easy. My results:
1° Round Höhhart (DE), I wasn't able to tale part for job problems.
2° Round Mattighofen (AT), this Race is on KTM factory's parking. It's beautiful also because there are many people. I was 4th in the grid, and I finished Race 1 as 6° and Race I was 2°. I was 4° in the classification.
3° Round Stubaital (AT). The track is in the parking zone of the Cableway of the Stubai Glacier, over 2000 m (you can ski during all the year). A beautiful country among the mountains. I was 6th in grid (I had too much party the night before!). Race 1 I finished 2° and Race 2 I was 4°. I finished 3° of the day. I was so tired... eheh
4° Round Greinbach (AT). This track is beautiful, and it was also a round of the World Championship supermoto last year. Qualify 2°. Race 1 = 1° Race 2 = 2°. I finished 1°
5° Round Traunstein (DE)This race was in the industrial zone of Traunstein, but it's good. Qualify 5°. Race 1 = 1° Race 2 = I crashed 3 times and I didn't finish the race.
I took part to only 4 rounds, and I finished my championship in the 5th position, very close to the 4th and the 3rd. I'm proud of my results because I did only 4 rounds of 5 and I wasn't lucky. I'd like to see some italian women in this Championship.
Supermotogirls: Margit is Italian, but she lives in the north of Italy in a German language land, and she's nearer Austria and Germany's tracks than other Italian's tracks. She also speak German language, so it's easier foor her take part to a German championship. Thank to Margit for her article.
